The Redlands Noon Rotary Club recently welcomed Bodie Crowder, a senior at The Grove School in Redlands, who shared highlights from his Rotary-sponsored exchange year in Spain.
Bodie’s presentation gave members a glimpse into the experience of living abroad, adapting to a new culture, and navigating daily life in a different language.
Through Rotary Youth Exchange, students like Bodie have the opportunity to expand their perspective, build independence, and form connections across cultures. His time in Spain was not only an academic experience, but a personal journey of growth.
From learning the language to immersing himself in local traditions, Bodie shared stories that reflected both the challenges and rewards of stepping outside of his comfort zone.
His presentation also brought a bit of humor, as members were curious whether he returned with a Spanish accent or at least a few memorable phrases.
More importantly, his experience highlighted the lasting impact of Rotary’s commitment to youth development and global understanding.
At Redlands Noon Rotary, programs like Youth Exchange play a vital role in shaping future leaders by giving students the opportunity to see the world from a new perspective.
We are grateful to Bodie for sharing his story and representing the value of connection, learning, and cultural exchange.
