TODAY

Our own DON MCCUE will be on hand to reflect on Memorial Day, and what that means for the contributions and sacrifices made by Redlanders in defense of our nation.

HOW TO JOIN MEETINGS ON ZOOM:

We would love to see everyone in person at Rotary Club of Redlands, but if that is not possible, the following Zoom option is available by going to:

LAST WEEK

STEPHANIE HOUSTON, the Assistant Superintendent – Innovation and Engagement for the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, visited the Club to talk about the fascinating programs and approaches of the SBCSS office. In her role, she is responsible for collaboration efforts with educators, government, community & faith-based organizations, law enforcement, health, business & industry, and elected officials to provide personal and academic success opportunities for all students in San Bernardino County – from cradle to career. In her spare time, she serves as the Chairperson of the San Bernardino Community College District Board of Trustees.

NEXT WEEK

CLUB ASSEMBLY time! What does President JEN have up her sleeve for the very last Club Assembly of her year as president? If you’re a more recent Rotarian looking to turn that red badge blue, attendance at a Club Assembly is definitely a good way to fill out that card!

IT’S BIRTHDAY TIME

Congratulations to our Rotarians experiencing the conclusion of one and the beginning of another trip around the sun. What is it about nine months before May that makes May birthdays so uncommon for this August body?

HAVE YOU BEEN TO SMILEYLAND?

If you have never visited Mohonk, the land of Smileys, now’s your chance! Join your fellow Rotarians LARRY BURGESS, SHELLI STOCKTON, and NATHAN GONZALES this October to see the fall colors of upstate New York and enjoy experiencing first-hand how the Smileys made their money in New York but spent it in Redlands. DANIEL SMILEY, the younger halfbrother of Redlands’s Patron Saints ALBERT and ALFRED, was a frequent visitor to THE ROTARY CLUB OF REDLANDS while spending winters here during the 1920s.

REDLANDS FESTIVAL OF ARTS

The Redlands Festival of Arts is this weekend!

SHIRLEY HARRY, LYNN WHITMER, JERRY BEAN, and others will demonstrate beyond the shadow of a doubt that the best events in Our Town are run by ROTARIANS. Happy Memorial Day!
