We would love to see everyone in person at Rotary Club of Redlands, but if that is not possible, the following Zoom option is available by going to:
LINCOLN IN FILM
In honor of Abraham Lincoln’s 214th birthday, MARIA CARRILLO (special collections manager at AK Smiley Library) presented Lincoln’s life as depicted on the big screen from silent to short and feature length films. Most recent & accurate with Daniel Day Lewis. She showed both positive and
negative, as well as accurate and inaccurate, representations. He was applauded for his vision to abolish slavery. Lincoln’s image has evolved and was used to help people overcome adversity through print and television.
We will be traveling to the San Bernardino Valley College campus for lunch provided by the Culinary Arts Program in Room B-100. This will be followed by a tour of KVCR and its studio. Sounds like a fun and informative afternoon!
