PAUL ARANDA will tell the story of SGT. CRUZ COYAZO of Redlands who was a member of a bomber crew in Europe during WWII who gave their lives fighting for freedom.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Noon Kiwanis has foolishly challenged us to a duel (I was hoping it was a paint ball war). Obviously, they do not realize what they have done! They have challenged us to a food collection contest for Family Service and the Salvation Army in conjunction with the Boy Scouts of America “Scouting For Food” drive, November 12. We will collect non-perishable food and monetary donations 11-3, 11-10 and 11-17 ($1 = 1#). We will weigh in on 11- 19 and the winner declared. SO, obviously please bring a load … or good money! Questions … talk to JIM NOLAN!

Rotary Club of Redlands is planning a holiday party to be held here at the Masonic Lodge on the evening of ??? Needless to say it will be early December on a Friday night. ..if we get approval. Cocktails and dinner will be served.

VETERANS DAY PARADE

November 11th is Veterans Day! Many of us have served and we are all rightly proud of those who have. What can you do? The Redlands Veterans Day Parade is at 9 AM tomorrow morning. Please consider joining us there at 8 AM for line up and shooting the breeze, bring your own coffee. SAM IRWIN, former Chairman of the Veterans Day Parade and former City Clerk will be the Grand Marshall.

VETERANS DAY DINNER

The Redlands Veterans Committee is sponsoring a dinner on the afternoon of November 11th from 2 PM till 7 PM at the Redlands Elks Lodge. The dinner, dance with a live band, drawings prizes and a lot of fun is all free to Veterans and their families. Many of you have made generous contributions to support the event, please consider attending.

JES GLOBAL SUMMIT IN REDLANDS

On Monday, Nov. 14, 5:30 PM to 7 PM AVI LOEB, Professor of Science at Harvard University, will discuss “Extraterrestrials: Are We Alone?” He is author and founding director of The Black Hole Initiative. Nov. 15 at ESRI is award winning professor and respected oceanographer DAWN WRIGHT on “Meeting the Challenges of the Challenger Deep”. He is a chief scientist at ESRI. This is a Redlands Forum Event.

We will be ready to jingle and mingle at our Holiday Bingo Tourney on Friday December 9th at the Masonic Lodge at 6:00 p.m. Bring your spouses (or your favorite elf) and join us for an evening of shrewd Bingo strategy and, of course, fellowship with your favorite Rotarians! Brownie points to the person who dons the best (or worst) Christmas sweater!
